After a very long break caused by the pandemic, the participants of the Agropuzzle 4 project, implemented in cooperation with representatives of partner countries: Czech Republic, Romania, Portugal, Spain and France / French Guiana, met during another visit to the partner country. This time we visited the north-west part of Spain where, at the invitation of the COCEDER organization, we were implementing the goals of our project. The project consists in the exchange of experiences in the field of sustainable rural development. The main areas that we deal with during its implementation are herbalism and beekeeping and all related issues, such as cultivation, protection, sale of products and their distribution. We were primarily interested in small family businesses that developed their activities in the above-mentioned areas. The organizer of the meeting showed us the beautiful regions of north-west Spain and the economic and climatic conditions affecting the development of aromatic plants and bee breeding. Palencia, Galicia and Cantabria are regions that are very diverse in terms of climate and economy, with diverse potential, but with residents who have coped well with the implementation of agricultural intentions in their ventures. We saw an agricultural Spain, not a touristic one, full of greenery and busy farmers trying to make it before winter. We thank our Spanish partner for preparing the week-long meeting.
